Summer Services and Staffing
Student Health Services provides limited services
between Commencement Day and the first day of fall semester classes.
Plan ahead for your summer health care needs!

Eligibility: Those students involved in University- sponsored summer programs as well as current students who will continue to attend classes in the fall semester may use services at SHS during the summer.
Students who have graduated are no longer eligible to receive health services after commencement day. If you are graduating and have questions about continuing care or medication, please call us at 860-486-4700. Graduating students who are currently covered by the Aetna student health insurance plan through August 14, 2012, should seek care from an Aetna participating provider in their community. <find an Aetna provider>
Hours: Student Health Services is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for urgent care.
Registered Nurses and a Nurse Practitioner or Physician will be on site to provide these services.
Appointments for certain medical visits (immunizations, follow up and health maintenance visits) will be available at specific times only. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 860-486-2719.
Students should be prepared to seek essential or urgent medical care off campus if the care needed is beyond the scope of SHS summer services or its hours of operation.

Counseling and Mental Health Services: Please visit the Counseling website to see services available.
Pharmacy: The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will close daily for the lunch hour.
Lab & X-ray: The SHS Lab and X-Ray departments are closed during the summer. These services will be referred to off-site facilities if required during summer medical visits. The services provided by off-site entities are the patient’s financial responsibility.
All care is provided on a fee-for-service basis.
